I just realized that I have seen 7 movies out of this week’s top 10 box-office movies.
Do I even have a life?
however, if I may, my choice to recommend would be;
Borat, Babel, and the Return. (maybe stranger than fiction too)
hopefully I will be able to review all 7 films sometime next week…(more movies to see)

Orson Welles: Visions are worth fighting for. Why spend your life making someone else’s dreams?
*Before I say anything, I wanna say that it could be a mere coincidence that I am actually writing this post in front of a TV especially ‘Plan 9 from Another Space’ is on TCM.
I can’t stop laughing at his movie. Everything is just plain horrible. Acting, editing, and terrible directing, yet I have to say that I am in no position to say anything about Ed Wood.
Why? It’s not because of what he had accomplished(should I say failed?), or not because of his talent. It is because of his passion and his commiment of that of his passion.
Not everyone who’s passionate about something has enough skills or talent. Then is it wrong to have a passion that you have no talent? Tim Burton’s Ed Wood gave me the answer to that question. Whatever you do it’s about how much you want to do.
I love this movie and Tim’s message.
ah, so I was at the midnight opening of ‘The Grudge 2′ last night, and a week ago, I saw ‘The Departed’. The review of two very different hollywood’s remakes is coming up.

well…as a matter of fact, I have had migrainesince I was sophomore in high school. Since then during every September and December, I have had migraine. We entered half-way in September so I have migraine these days. What’s new?
If you never have had migraine and you have no idea how painful it can be, think of it this way; it’s like someone or something is inside of your head. In this case IT only resides either side of your head so whenit hurts, it’s either left or right. Now imagine that something is slowly squeezing your left or right eyeball. Remember it starts very slowly. And it starts with your pulse. Wait! it is same as your pulse. Now it’s getting faster and harder. Oh, snap, it is spreading to the whole half-side of your brain. You feel nauseous, like vomiting, you feel cold, you become light-sensitive(in other words, Photophobia) so you want to be in a dark place, and last but not least, you become totally incapable of anything; you don’t want to and pretty much can not do anything.
At least it is how I suffer from migraine. I don’t think it is the pain I have to bear or accept. It is just there is no 100% cure for migraine these days. The last for me to try is what’s called Acupuncture. I have had it few times before and it was actually quite relaxing too. So I will probably try that in coming days.
And for a visual aid, I think this picture says it all the pain and more more so than I hope to describe.

Being an enthusiastic guy at stars and such, one day I though of a star(or a black hole as our video game industry(cause I read some line somewhere that said “…the industry could be collapsed by its own weight”, which is the expression that’s normally used to explain the death of stars.)
A star would meet its fate when it use up all the fuels it has. Because the star would not have any fuels left that create the outer force, so to speak. Now it’s collapsing by its gravity. And IF the mass of that star was huge, I mean, HUGE, the star would collapse into so small and its gravity would get so powerful, nothing could ever escape from it; it’s now called black hole.
Our video game industry is bright and shine now, but if they kept burning away its fuel like spending more money making safer sequels(I understand it being a kind of necessary evil though), makers and publishers only concentrate on making so-called blockbuster games, neglecting on more innovative games in the process, failing at including non-usual gamers such as middle-aged or old men and women and so forth.
Eventually people will get tired of similar games, that means the fuel has decreased. They buy games lesser than they used to. The industry would start feel its weight…
Is there any way to stop its gruesome final?

It looks like a lot of people, almost all the Europeans I guess, are pissed because Sony delayed PS2 launch till next year. Well, some are pissed, some are laughing at Sony and some are…probably worried.
And some came up with a slightly lame idea, which is shameless parodies.
I found most of them, well, bad. But there were some that made me really laugh.
Here are those “some”

I had a really good laugh with this. I particulary liked Mr. Kutaragi saying “…Or No Final Fantasy for you” Very clever.

Another good one.

and my favorite one. (not a top-notch job but I like what they say)

another good words.
ps. I think it was Alan Alda who said “Laugh at yourself, but never doubt yourself”
And I think being foolish and laughing at yourself share something in common.

This is not an another boring old argument whether PC is better platform than consoles or vice versa. It’s just after reading Erik’s Post, I think it is clear to me now that I am not a PC gamer and never will be one(at least I don’t see myself becoming one in coming years).
Erik talked about a business side of view on how to approach possible users/players.(distribution of their game). While it’s very practical idea, I think it should focus on the game itself. In other words, the type of game becomes important when it comes to decide its platform and possibly the promotion.
Let’s take a look at a game, in this case, DoubleJumping’s first game, Harmotion. In my opinion, Harmotion should be on XBLA for the game’s sake. Harmotion does not require a precise aiming (it wants faster reaction), it also sometimes requires a button smashing and there are possible miss inputs. I also think Harmotion and vibration funciton would be a nice add for the ultimate game experience. It might be for the best if the game was on the console. But again, what do I know?
Here’s some random thought:
I think not everyone who has PC would venture to buy a PC game when others with Xbox would buy games with more passion-although there is no fact or statistics to back me up so it has no validation point. But it makes sense when you buy a video game console, you are committed to it; you can do nothing but playing games on the console so you actively look for games to play. PCs are different.(of course, except for the hardcore PC gamers) You buy a PC not wanting to get the best game. You need it pretty much for everyday life now. Gaming on PC could be a secondary choice for people.

It was going to happen no matter what. I am not good at handling boredom and I get bored pretty fast and easily. Maybe at this point of my life, nothing exciting happens. Well, that’s O.C. for you(maybe except when you’re white and you live near beaches, your life would be very exciting it even can be turned into a TV show).
As I said, nothing happened, and I suspect if anyone gave a damn.
I’ve started working part-time at a video store I used to work for before DigiPen. I should write a post about working at the store cause a few interesting things happen every time I work.
And I really got into those Max-Payne Mods and I started learning designing levels for it. It is much more demanding job than I thought(I mean using the Mod-tools), but I get all the funs just to think how I can make things my way and GOOD with this somewhat very limited source. If anybody reads this, hey, what do you think of Silent Hill + Max Payne? I think it could be good. Especially if I get good narrations for the main character. hmm. And noir? you need the main character’s narration and monologues. No doubt.
Horror + Noir…(come to think of it, the original Max Payne had some scary scenes and there’s F.E.A.R. which is a horror game with Bullet-time)
It gets pretty hot here. Why am I here?
